Lixin Jiang, MD, PhD, is the Co-chair of the WHO GCM/NCD Working Group on Health Education and Health Literacy for NCDs, Co-Director of LSE-NCCD Hub for Health Economics and is a Policy Research, Management Committee Member of GACD, Steering Committee of EAS and FHSC, and Fellow of AHA, ACC and ESC. She is also the Assistant Director of the National Centre for Cardiovascular Diseases (NCCD), Director of the International Collaborative Centre and the National Cardiovascular Bio-bank Centre, Co-Director of China Oxford Centre for International Health Research, and Editor-in-chief of the Lancet Chinese Edition.
Prof. Jiang’s research focus is in large-scale clinical trial, nation-wide quality assessment and improvement, large-scale population cohort study, pharmacogenomics and biomarkers study, and primary healthcare study. Prof. Jiang was awarded for Women Transforming Leadership Programme Award by European Society of Cardiology in 2016.
Prof. Jiang is the PI of 14 projects funded by Chinese Governments, such as Patient-centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Events funded by China and National Health and Family Planning Commission of the PRC, China PEACE-stent funded by Chinese Ministry of Science and Techonology. She is also the PI of 16 projects funded by international organizations, such as TREAT, ISCHEMIA, FOURIER, and HPS3/TIMI55:REVEAL. Prof. Jiang has made major contributions in CVD control and management in China and worldwide. She is an author, co-author, and corresponding author on 127 original research papers and reviews in The Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association and European Heart Journal.
