Sanam Roder-DeWan is the Research Lead for Working Group 3. She is a family physician and DrPH candidate in her final year at the Harvard School of Public Health. Sanam has over a decade of clinical and programmatic experience with underserved populations in the U.S., sub-Saharan Africa and Central America. She is especially interested in participatory methodologies and qualitative approaches that value local expertise and give voice to those experiencing health, illness and poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. Sanam’s doctoral work focuses on people’s expectations of healthcare and generating demand for high quality services in LMICs. She currently lives in Dar es Salaam with her husband and two very curious children.
